About / The engineer behind the work

Hi, I'm Atul.
I think in systems.

A Software Engineer with a Senior SDET background, working at the intersection of automation, AI, and system design.

Tools and platforms, not just scripts.

My background is in Java and automation architecture. I'm interested in the foundations that make testing useful: clear abstractions, manageable test data, meaningful reports, and feedback that engineers can act on.

I prefer building tools and platforms that help a whole team over solving the same problem one test at a time. Reliability comes from the way a system is designed, operated, and understood.

Practical AI. Thoughtful engineering.

I'm exploring how AI can support engineering work, from test generation to failure triage. The goal is practical: reduce repetitive work, bring relevant context closer to a problem, and help engineers make better decisions.

A home lab is a place to learn.

Outside automation frameworks, I work on self-hosted infrastructure: Docker on Debian, private photo storage with Immich, and a Raspberry Pi NAS. These projects make system design tangible, with real questions about storage, access, maintenance, and recovery.

What comes next.

I'm deepening my system design and cloud-native engineering experience as I work towards Staff and Principal SDET roles. This site is a place to document the work and the reasoning behind it.
